WE HAVE JOINED THE SANTI UNIVERSE
We have recently signed a collaboration agreement with the Fundación Universo Accesible. Directed by Antonio Vila, it is with the family and disciples of the missing chef Santi Santamaría, the driving force behind the “Restaurante Universo Santi”.
Located in the property “El Altillo” in Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, “Universo Santi” is much more than just a restaurant. It is in the world, a unique project that links the creation and training in haute cuisine along with the promotion of social integration of the Fundación Universo Accesible, which works on the employment of people with Down syndrome and other disabilities.
The project, that has no referent, was born with the aim to train and provide work experience to unemployed people with disabilities in the haute cuisine sector, contributing to improve the quality of life of the group. It will involve the collaboration of renowned chefs and Angel Zapata, one of the most renowned disciples of Santi Santamaria, who will be responsible and will coordinate more than 40 employees.
There are many companies, organizations and foundations linked to financial institutions that have wanted to get involved and promote this fascinating project as well: Fundación ONCE, Fundación DKV Integralia, Fundación Cruzcampo, the Federación Nacional de Asociaciones de Trabajadores Autónomos, the Fundación Cajasol, Pepsico, are some of them. And some renowned chefs as Martín Berasategui, Juan Mari Arzak, the Torres brothers, the Roca brothers, Óscar Velasco, Iván Sola, Ismael Delgado, etc… will collaborate in the implementation of this new space.
With this agreement, we join this exciting initiative of social innovation, which in addition of generating employment and activity will help young people to improve their future.
